We had a quiet weekend last weekend with only two jobs. One on Saturday in the Northern Sydney suburb of Killara and one on Sunday in the Eastern Suburbs in Bondi.
Both paella jobs were cooked by chef Mark and the floor was run by our senior waiter Shane. Both the guys reported great feedback from the events, even though the weather was not particularly favorable on the Sunday.
Saturday’s job in Killara was a huge success with Mark cooking a 1.15m chicken and chorizo paella in the backyard of our client’s home. This pan serves up 90 people and even though there were more than 90 people at the event, some lucky people received more than one serving. This pan also includes pane di casa bread and a mixed leaf salad with reduced balsamic dressing which was loved as part of the entire meal. Guests were able to help themselves to bread and salad from our table buffet.

Sunday’s job in Bondi was also a huge success despite the inclement weather. As you can see from the photo below, it was very rainy and very windy making for challenging paella cooking conditions. Luckily with our experience in mobile paella catering we have fantastic solutions to these poor conditions including wind guards and marquees which we bring to every event (just in case).
We were able to select an (almost) dry spot to cook! Mark cooked an 80cm seafood paella and 5 servings of vegetarian paella. This provides a good option for if any of the guests were allergic to seafood or did not want to eat seafood. The 80cm seafood paella serves 40 people comfortably and was perfect for this family who were big seafood eaters. Our seafood paella has become famous in Sydney as being the best stocked with fresh prawns, squid, mussels and salmon. We cook with our handmade seafood stock, AAA Spanish saffron and calasparra rice.
This event was for a christening and what a fantastic way to celebrate with a paella party. We received great feedback from this event also on our Google page.
