Paella in Bondi - Catering for home events

Updated: Apr 12, 2021

Last Friday evening we had one of our first paella events back due to the lockdown and further restrictions of COVID-19. We are able to cater for up to 20 guests in private homes now meaning that you can invite 20 people who do not usually live in your household for a paella party. This gives us a great chance to enhance the smaller more intimate events which have been put on hold due to COVID-19.

This was a great first event back with our lovely client ordering tapas as well as paella.

We served Spanish style marinated olives, garlic prawns, caramelised fig with ricotta and grilled chorizo on garlic crouton. These small tapas started the event nicely and ensured that everyone had a chance to arrive and grab a drink and small bite before the main event.

The lighting was not the best, but chef Dave managed to snap these quick photos as the paella was cooking.

We cooked two different types of paella for this event. A 55cm seafood paella and a 55cm vegetarian paella. This pan combination does serve about 10 more people than was at the event, however; as always we boxed up the leftovers and left them in the fridge for the client to enjoy the next day.

The paella was enjoyed by everyone with chef Dave doing an amazing job on the socarrat (the amazingly crispy rice at the base of the paella pan reserved for the most important guests). Dave is a paella pro with many years cooking experience with Paella amor.

We finished the event as usual by taking all our rubbish with us and ensuring that it looked as though we were never there. Paella catering is one of the easiest ways to cater and one of the most affordable ways to cater for a large group of people. All our paellas are gluten free, dairy free, egg free and nut free. Our vegetarian paella is also vegan meaning it is great for dietary requirement catering.
