Where to buy paella pans in Sydney

Updated: Mar 25, 2021

We have been getting a few requests lately about where to purchase paella pans in Sydney. In short it is difficult to find good quality paella equipment however; this has changed slightly over the past few years.

When Paella amor first joined the ranks of local Sydney paella caterers, we were unable to purchase any paella pans or equipment which would suit our business. We ended up importing the equipment from overseas until more local suppliers came on board in our 2nd year of business. Furthermore, domestic paella equipment was basically non existent which meant that no one could cook delicious paella for their family and friends.

Most people are now purchasing pans between 55cm and 80cm which are perfect for 12 to 40 people. These are a good size to purchase as they allow you to feed a larger group of people and are easy to store and maintain. Anything larger than 80cm becomes difficult to move, clean and store.

There are a few other places where you can buy paella pans. These include

1. https://www.wheelandbarrow.com.au/cookware/paella-pans - Wheel & Barrow Homewares is a good place to go. They offer free shipping for orders over $200.00 online but also have convenient store locations in Chatswood, Bondi, Broadway, Miranda and Hornsby.

2. http://spanishdeli.com.au/buy-paella-pan-burner-paellera-australia/- Spanish Deli has a limited range of paella equipment on their website, however I would suggest contacting them if you have something specific in mind or require a certain size pan. Spanish Deli also carries a large range of Spanish cheeses and jamon, perfect for your next paella party or event.

3. https://www.essentialingredient.com.au/product-category/cookware/paella-pans-accessories/ - The Essential Ingredient has one of the best domestic paella pan ranges in Sydney with many pan sizes and the ability to special order some pans in. Their Sydney store in Rozelle, has a large section at the rear of the store which has all these pans on display.

Again this list will continue to grow as paella parties and paella catering becomes more and more popular in Sydney. We will of course continue to update this post to include these new retailers.

Of course, if you are considering purchasing a paella pan, then also consider paella catering. Paella amor has been cooking paellas for almost 6 years now, all over Sydney including the Northern Beaches, North Shore, Hills District and Southern Shire. We provide delicious paellas, cooked from scratch in front of your guests. Everything is prepared in our commercial, Gold Licence accredited kitchen and then cooked onsite. We then serve the paella straight from the pan in our biodegradable bowls. Best of all we take all this rubbish with us when we leave meaning that you are not left with any clean up.

We are also much more than just a paella catering company in Sydney. We come from a catering background and have a sister catering company called Boardwalk Catering. This experience and support resource also allows us to produce delicious tapas, desserts and grazing stations to complement your paella party. As well as this we also have a NSW Liquor licence and can provide a variety of alcoholic beverages including sangria.

All this adds up to exceptional paella catering and paella events in Sydney. Perfect for engagement party catering, a good idea for 21st birthday catering, staff drinks, product launches, christenings, birthdays and even weddings.

If you have an event coming up and would like to discuss paella catering or paella as part of your event or celebration, then please get in contact to discuss further. We would be more than happy to provide a quotation and a copy of our information pack and pricing.

A 90cm paella pan. Perfect for paella catering for up to 50 people. Works out at only $24.20 including GST per person. This includes a chef, waiter or waitress, napkins, bowls, forks and all ingredients and equipment to cook the paella. Perfect for birthday party catering, corporate event catering and even Sydney Wedding Catering.

Just a word of warning, be careful of cheaper paella pans which are made in China and other countries. If you are looking at purchasing a paella pan, it is worth investing some money in a Spanish built pan. The pan will be much easier to cook in as the base of the pan will be thicker and hold the heat. Often the pans made in other countries have very thin bases which makes creating the socarrat very difficult. Often the rice burns and is not very nice. Having a thicker base means the heat is much easier to control and is a lot more even.
